Under Your Protection
Under your protection we take refuge, O holy Mother of God. Do not despise our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.
When this prayer is prayed
In danger, in war, in plague, and at the end of the day. The oldest known prayer to Our Lady: found on an Egyptian papyrus written around the year 250, when Christians were still being hunted — which tells you what they were praying it for.
