When this prayer is prayed
The words around the rim of the Miraculous Medal, shown to St Catherine Labouré at the Rue du Bac in Paris on the night of 18 July 1830 — twenty-four years before the Immaculate Conception was defined as dogma. Fr Amorth liked to say it is the only prayer Our Lady ever dictated herself, and he wore the medal until the day he died. It is two lines long because it is two lines long: say it whenever fear passes.
