Psalm 27 — The Lord is my light

Dominus illuminatio mea (Ps 26/27)

התפילה הזאת טרם תורגמה לשפתכם; היא מוצגת כאן באנגלית. הרוח שומעת אותה כך או כך.

My light is the Lord, and my rescue: who is left for me to fear? The Lord stands guard over my life: who is there that could make me tremble? Let armies pitch their camp against me: my heart will not be afraid. Let the battle rise against me: even in that I will put my hope. One thing I have begged of the Lord, and I will go on begging it: that His house be my home while I live, to look on the Lord's own loveliness and keep returning to His temple. Listen, Lord, to the cry I sent up to you; take pity on me, answer me. My heart has spoken to you, my face has searched for you: your face, Lord, is the face I go on seeking. I believe I shall see the Lord's good things here, in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be brave; let your heart grow strong; and wait for the Lord.

Against fear — of an illness, an enemy, an examination, a court date. The last two lines are the ones to keep when the rest will not stay in the memory.
