Prayer for the sick

Lord Jesus, you walked through Galilee touching people who had been told there was nothing to be done. I place before you N. You know the diagnosis, the number, the prognosis; you know what the doctors have said and what they have not said. Heal, if it is your will — and I ask boldly that it be your will. If not, then give what is even harder to give: an absence of pain, a lucid mind, sleep at night, courage in the family, and the certainty of never being alone in the room. By your wounds we were healed. Amen.
