Prayer for peace

Lord Jesus, you slept in a boat while grown men screamed at the water, and you woke and said one word to the storm. Say it now. Over the wars whose names we have stopped reading, over the cities under fire tonight, over the borders and the negotiating tables, over the house on my street where the shouting comes from, and over the storm inside me that I have named as something else. Give peace in our time, O Lord. And let it begin where I have the most power to prevent it. Amen.
