Prayer to St Joseph to obtain a conversion
Glorious patriarch St Joseph, whom the Holy Spirit himself called a just man, I place in your hands the soul of N., which Jesus bought at the price of his own blood. You know how wretched a state it is, and how unhappy a life, to have shut this loving Saviour out of one's heart, and how near such a soul stands to losing him for ever. Do not permit — I beg you — that a soul so dear to me should stay any longer on that road. Preserve it from the danger hanging over it. Touch the heart of this prodigal child and bring him back to the arms of the kindest of fathers. Do not abandon him, I implore you, until you have opened for him the gates of the heavenly city, where he will praise you and bless you for all eternity for the happiness he will owe to your powerful intercession. Amen.

The prayer comes from the nineteenth-century collections of indulgenced devotions to St Joseph, and it goes to him for a reason — he is the one who was handed a child who was not his and got him home alive through Egypt and back.
