The Psalms

Psalm 121 — I have lifted my eyes to the mountains

Levavi oculos (Ps 120/121)

I have lifted my eyes to the mountains; my help will come from there. It is the Lord who gives me that help — He who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot give way; the One who keeps you does not doze. Look: no drowsiness, no sleep ever comes over the keeper of Israel. The Lord keeps you Himself; the Lord is the shelter held over your right hand. By daylight the sun will not scorch you, nor the moon through the night. The Lord keeps you from every evil; may the Lord keep your soul. May He keep your coming in and your going out, from this moment and into all the ages.
